In accordance with KSHSAA guidelines, each middle school and high school student who plans on participating in a sanctioned athletic competition this school year must be trained in concussion symptoms and protocols. In the past, we have done this throughout the year; so, in an effort to streamline this process for our athletes and coaches, we are now going to offer numerous training opportunities before school begins. Please note: ANY STUDENT PLANNING ON PARTICIPATING IN ANY SPORT THIS YEAR MUST COMPLETE THIS TRAINING.  Even if a student is planning on participating in more than one sport, they only need to attend the training once, to fulfill the requirement for the entire year.

The training will take place in the Haven High School Auditorium, and should not take more than an hour. The schedule for the concussion training is:
August 2nd - 6pm
August 3rd - 10am
August 8th - 10 am & 2 pm
August 10th - 10 am & 2 pm
*Remember, attendance to one of these sessions is mandatory for participation in practice.

In addition, Haven Middle School and Haven High School conduct Concussion Baseline Testing on all 7th, 9th, and 11th graders to help aid the student-athlete and medical personnel in the event the athlete suffers a concussion. This is not mandatory, but encouraged. If you would like your student-athlete to take the baseline testing, the schedule is listed. Testing will occur in the Haven High School computer lab (please enter through the main high school doors) and should be completed in approximately 45-60 minutes.
August 6th: 11th grade 9am & 11am
August 8th: 9th grade 9am & 11am
August 9th: 7th grade 9am & 11am
August 10th: Make-up sessions 9am & 11am
