Welcome to Pleasantview Academy

Virtual Program

Application Packet, 2010-2011

 

As Haven’s charter school, Pleasantview Academy (PA) offers a unique learning environment for students who are eager to learn and willing to develop into self-starters.  The Kansas State Accredited Virtual School program allows students to work from home or other locations and complete their academic requirements.  If needed, Pleasantview Academy will provide a  laptop computer upon payment of a lease fee.

 

Curriculum Options:

OdysseyWare is an almost completely Internet based challenging curriculum for grades three-twelve.  Students can access the program anytime and anywhere they have access to the internet.  This provides a great deal of flexibility in learning schedules.

 

K12 Curriculum offers a challenging program for students in kindergarten-twelfth grade.  It involves lessons that are online and offline.  Materials will be shipped to your home directly from K12.

 

Rosetta Stone Foreign Language program is available in 11 languages and is available for students in grades 7-12.

 

Music and Art classes are available through the K12 curriculum. 

 

Family Involvement:

Pleasantview Academy believes that a collaborative relationship between the family and school is essential for student success.  Family participation, as a fundamental support system, is essential for student success.  Communication between school and family is a top priority in the complete development of an educated global citizen.

 

Facilities:  

Pleasantview Academy is located at 5013 South Dean Road, southwest of Hutchinson.

 

Application Process:

Our application process offers us an opportunity to enroll students who fit the profile of our program.  We are looking for students who are self-motivated and self-disciplined.
