Each core content area is reviewed on a 6 year cycle
24-25: PE & Art

29-30: Pre-K, Foreign Language
The review process:
Form a review team (vertical and horizontal representation)
Choose a decision making method
Conduct content and state standard review
Determine criteria and priorities for resource adoption
Narrow choices to 2-3 options
Review 3rd party evaluations and consult with other districts
Pilot programs in classrooms
Collect feedback from staff, students, and community members
Determine top choice
Present top choice and pricing to BOE for approval
CURRICULUM CHALLENGE POLICY
Any person having a complaint about textbooks, media center or other instructional materials shall meet with the principal. If the matter cannot be resolved the principal shall notify the superintendent and ask the complainant to use a request for review form which is available through building principals or at the district office. After receiving the completed form, the superintendent shall meet with the complainant to discuss the complaint. If the complaint is not resolved at the meeting with the superintendent, the complainant may request that the board consider the complaint. If the board chooses to consider the complaint, it shall forward all appropriate written materials to a review committee.

Phonics & Phonemic Awareness
Heggerty Curriculum focuses on eight phonemic awareness skills, along with activities to develop letter and sound recognition, and language awareness. These short (8-12 minutes lessons) are provided in Pre-K - 2nd grade classrooms each day.
Infant, Toddler, & Pre-K Numeracy & Literacy
Frogstreet is our core curriculum used in all USD 312 early education programs including our infant child care, toddler child care, and 3 and 4 year old pre-k programs.
Reading/English Language Arts (ELA)
Amplify CKLA is our core ELA program for grades K-5. This early literacy program is grounded in the Science of Reading and combines foundational skills with knowledge-building activities and instruction.
Amplify ELA is a blended English language arts curriculum designed specifically to support students in grades 6–8 and prepare them for high school and beyond. With Amplify ELA, students learn to tackle any complex text and make observations, grapple with interesting ideas, and find relevance for themselves.
StudySync is the core ELA program used in 9-12th grade ELA courses at Haven High School. Core units focus on a central theme with an essential question to be answered through exploration of texts supported by easily customized and differentiated assignments
Math
IntoMath is the core math program used in grades K-8.
EnVision is the core math resources used for Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II at Haven High School. EnVision A|G|A offers students choice in how they explore mathematics through engaging and meaningful topics.
Science
Our K-6 science resource looks at the world through "mysteries." Each lesson starts with a mystery question and content is delivered through videos from Mystery Doug. Hands-on activities are included and students are always highly engaged.
6th Grade Earth Science: Students will build an understanding of essential concepts and skills including the following: structure and properties of matter, energy transfer, Earth's systems, Earth's place in the universe
7th Grade Physical Science: Students will build an understanding of essential concepts and skills including the following: waves and information technologies, cycles influencing weather and climate, systems, reproduction and growth; relationships within ecosystems.
8th Grade Life Science: Students will build an understanding of essential concepts and skills including atoms and chemical reactions, forces, diversity of life and the changing Earth.

PK-5 Purposeful People: Character Strong's PK-5 curriculum helps students to "Be Kind, Be Strong, Be Well." Students will have weekly lessons with counselors and teachers with a focus on the following skills: empathy, respect, cooperation, responsibility, perseverance, courage, gratitude, honesty, and creativity.
6-12 Character Strong: All student's in grades 6-12 will have weekly lessons that support 3 essential outcomes: well-being, belonging, and engagement.
