The USD 312 Education Foundation is proud to recognize Mr. Scott Logan as the recipient of the 4th Quarter Impact Award. Since arriving in Haven, Mr. Logan has demonstrated exceptional dedication, passion, and talent in leading the district’s choir program. His high expectations and student-centered approach have brought a renewed sense of energy and excellence to all three choirs. He selects a wide variety of music tailored to each group’s strengths and learning goals, creating fast-paced, engaging rehearsals filled with purpose and joy. Students rise to the high standards he sets, and it’s clear he genuinely loves both his job and the students he serves.

Under his leadership, the high school choir has reached new heights, performing an exciting range of genres including jazz, gospel, world music, and more. The group has earned invitations to prestigious events like the Sing It! Festival at Friends University and the Shocker Sing at Wichita State. Mr. Logan also transformed the annual Encore performance into a polished, high-quality production with live instrumentation and thoughtful staging, earning it a reputation as one of the best performances Haven has seen. His efforts have created meaningful performance opportunities that leave a lasting impression on both students and audiences alike.

Perhaps Mr. Logan’s most lasting impact is the work he’s done to build relationships with younger students. By visiting Haven Grade School twice daily to assist with upper-grade music, he has fostered early connections that have directly strengthened the middle school choir. Enrollment in the HMS choir has jumped from just nine students two years ago to 36 this semester, a testament to his commitment to recruiting and mentoring future musicians. Mr. Logan’s influence has brought life, excitement, and growth to the choral program at every level. We are incredibly grateful for his presence in USD 312 and proud to celebrate him with this well-deserved award.
