Red Ribbon Week 2025 - Life is a Puzzle Solve it Drug Free
Dear USD 312 Families,

Due to anticipated inclement weather on Friday, the football game at Kingman has been moved to Thursday night, October 23, 2025. Kickoff will remain at 7:00 p.m.

Because of this schedule change, Parent-Teacher Conferences will conclude at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. If you had a conference scheduled during that two-hour window, your child(ren)’s teacher will reach out to reschedule at a convenient time.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and flexibility. Go Cats!

National School Bus Safety Week – October 20–24

School buses are the safest form of transportation for students, but safety depends on all of us:

• Drivers: Always stop for the flashing red lights and extended stop arm. It’s not just the law, it could save a life.

• Parents: Remind your children to stay alert, avoid distractions, and follow the bus driver’s instructions.

• Students: Stand back from the curb, cross only when the driver signals, and never walk behind the bus.

Let’s work together to keep our roads safe and our kids even safer.

Laurel Scott – Principal Advocate Award

We are thrilled to recognize Laurel Scott, one of only three principals in Kansas to receive the Principal Advocate Award from the Kansas School Counseling Association!

Over the past six years, Mrs. Scott has been an incredible partner, mentor, and champion for students and staff alike.

Her support of school counseling goes above and beyond:

Turning ideas into action, like creating a school-wide PBIS initiative based on student voice data

Restructuring responsibilities so counselors can work directly with students and families

Providing funds and opportunities for professional growth and conferences

Elevating the voice of school counselors to ensure student success is prioritized

Mrs. Scott’s leadership demonstrates that school counseling is vital to every student’s achievement. She consistently listens, collaborates, and uses her position to make a real difference in the lives of students, staff, and families.

We are so proud of her and grateful for her dedication!

🏫 Safe Schools Week 2025
📅 October 20–26
#SafeSchoolsWeek #SafetyStartsWithUs

This week, we come together to recognize Safe Schools Week; a time to reflect on the importance of creating learning environments where every student feels safe, respected, and supported.

A truly safe school isn’t just about physical safety; it’s also about emotional well-being, inclusivity, and a culture of kindness. When students feel safe, they can focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and becoming the best versions of themselves.

We’re excited to share that our district has been recognized by the Kansans Can Star Program with a
Bronze Star in Kindergarten Readiness and Copper Star in Individual Plans of Study (IPS)!

These honors highlight the dedication of our staff and students:

Kindergarten Readiness (Bronze Star):
Through our Little Learners program, we are preparing children long before their first day of kindergarten. By building strong foundations in social, emotional, and academic skills, we ensure our youngest students start school ready to succeed.

Individual Plans of Study (Copper Star):
From middle school to high school, students are exploring careers, setting goals, and designing their futures through personalized plans, whether their path leads to college, career, or service.

We’re proud of this recognition and even more proud of the work happening every day in USD 312. #One312 #312Proud

Happy World Teachers' Day! 🎉

Today, we honor the incredible individuals who shape minds, ignite curiosity, and build the future one lesson at a time. Teachers do more than educate — they inspire, support, and believe in us even when we don’t believe in ourselves.

To every teacher who's ever stayed late to help a student, brought learning to life, or made a difference (big or small) — thank you. Your impact goes far beyond the classroom. 🌍💛

Let’s take a moment to appreciate the educators who have guided us, challenged us, and helped us grow. Tag a teacher who made a difference in your life!
