This month, we take a moment to honor and celebrate the incredible leadership, dedication, and heart that principals bring to our schools every single day. From setting the tone for a positive school culture to supporting students, staff, and families—principals are the foundation of strong schools.
We invite all parents and students to help us show appreciation — send a virtual thank you card to our admin using this form : https://forms.gle/XpDTxZAoY9g2JNqc9

USD 312 and the USD 312 Education Foundation proudly name Scott Logan, Choir Director at Haven High School, as the 2025 Employee of the Year. His passion, dedication, and artistic vision have energized our choir program and inspired students from elementary through high school. Mr. Logan was one of four Impact Award winners honored throughout the year, and his selection as Employee of the Year reflects the profound impact he has made on our district. As part of this honor, he will also have the opportunity to represent USD 312 in the Kansas Teacher of the Year program.
Under Mr. Logan’s leadership, high school choirs have soared, earning invitations to Friends University’s Sing It! and Wichita State’s Shocker Sing. He revitalized the Encore performance with a live band, elevating the concert experience to new heights. At the middle school level, enrollment has jumped from nine choir members to thirty-six, a direct result of his daily visits to build relationships and recruit early.
A gifted composer and arranger, Mr. Logan premiered several original works this year, with two slated for publication in 2025. His influence extends across the state music community, serving roles in the Kansas Choral Directors Association and KMEA, and soon stepping into the position of Assistant Chair for the KMEA All-State Choir.
Congratulations to Scott Logan, an amazing educator whose enthusiasm, artistry, and commitment make USD 312 and his students shine.

There will be an after prom meeting at 5:30 pm tomorrow in the high school gym prior to the Fall Sports parent meeting at 6 pm.
Just a reminder that all students that plan to go out for a sport this school year must attend one of the mandatory concussion training sessions this week. There are two dates left 8/13 and 8/15 at 1 pm in the high school library.
We will also be hosting our Fall Sports Parent Meeting on Thursday, 8/14, at 6 pm in the High School Gym. We hope to see all of our fall sports families there.
